Recommendations for making crafts

Pipes are a fairly convenient material for making any product. The process is similar to assembling a children's construction set, only a special tool is used to connect individual elements to each other - soldering iron polypropylene.

To make any craft, you will need the following materials:

  • pipes same or different diameters;
  • fitting, if the design involves connecting elements to each other;
  • paint for plastic products;
  • pieces of fabric, net;
  • bolts or screws, if mobility of individual elements is required or fixing the pipe to the wall;
  • various decorative elements - twine, stars, stones, etc.

As for tools, if you don’t have an iron, you can replace it with a torch. True, in order to use it to heat pipes to soldering temperature, you will first have to practice.

Depending on the type of plastic you will use, you can take a special glue designed for cold welding.

Smooth cut of pipes for gluing
When using any glue, you must carefully read the instructions provided by the manufacturer. And follow it strictly, correctly preparing the surface of the pieces of plastic to be glued together.

To be sure of the reliability of the connection, you should purchase glue from trusted brands:

  • Tangit (Tangit), Germany;
  • Griffon (Griffon), Holland;
  • Zhebplast (Gebsoplast), France.

Also, to prepare pipe sections of the required size, you will need pipe cutter, tape measure, marker, paper and pencil for sketching the general contours and dimensions of the craft to be assembled.

Using a pipe cutter
For convenience, when working with pipes, a pipe cutter will not hurt; if you don’t have one, you can use a metal saw or a knife if the pipes are without reinforcement

If you plan to paint your homemade product, then purchase special paint for polypropylene.

Another important tip concerns strengthening the plastic structure - if the craft is subject to significant loads, you need to thread a metal or wooden rod inside the hollow pipe. For example, if we are talking about a hanger, a bed, racks for storing boxes with various things in a closet.

    In my opinion, plastic pipes are only needed for heating. I would not dare to make something out of them. It's plastic after all! A crib made of pipes is, of course, overkill, and visually it looks ugly. I would actually go up and sit on the sofa made of pipes. It seems to me that he would immediately fall apart under me. And it’s not too cheap a pleasure to make some crafts from this material. I prefer wood products; at least it is safe and is more suitable for furniture.

        By the way, you are in vain laughing at the girl. Technologies do not stand still and plastic heating pipes are no longer such a rarity. An aluminum-reinforced polypropylene pipe marked PN 25 confidently maintains a temperature of +95 degrees and its main purpose is all types of water supply and central heating systems. And given the simplicity and speed of installation, excellent corrosion resistance, durability and reasonable price, plastic heating pipes will become increasingly popular.

    This is simply fantastic. I looked through all the photos - I was delighted! So many great ideas for creativity! The only unusual thing I've seen before is an embroidery machine made from plastic pipes. There is a photo floating around on the women's handicraft forum, like here. And there are even reviews from girls about using such a machine. But decorative partitions made of rings and even a Christmas tree! It feels like you can make ANYTHING from pipes))) The only thing I didn’t like was the headboard for the bed. It looks like a hospital somehow.I wouldn't want a bed like this for my home.

    All the videos do not show how to solder several connections at once (the film is running out, the phone’s memory is simply not removed). Is this some kind of secret? How to solder one connection at a time is already clear. Assembling two frames with four jumpers (for example, a stool) is interesting. Thank you.

      Hello. There is no secret :) This is polypropylene, it has a reserve supply, which will be enough for soldering. The only thing is that you need to choose a soldering iron with a stable stand-fixer; a standard tripod will not hold the device when heating 2 parts. You will be tortured with it, you will have to clamp the soldering iron with your knees or use the help of a second person. Here's a good example - https://youtu.be/lOAsHZqkZ3g.

    In modern refrigerators, handles are a big problem and buying new handles solves the problem for 2-3 months until they fall off again, and these are very costly spare parts.

    The task was to make handles for an LG refrigerator. I searched the Internet for how others dealt with this problem, but I didn’t find anything. In the end, 40 minutes and this is what I got.
