How to properly install household appliances in the kitchen - useful recommendations for choosing a location

It is impossible to imagine a kitchen without household appliances. It helps modern housewives in storing and preparing food.To make the process of using devices easier, it is important to arrange them correctly.

How not to place household appliances in the kitchen

For any housewife, the kitchen is a special place where they spend a lot of time. Therefore, all devices should be conveniently placed here. Ideally, household appliances will be built-in. But not everyone has this opportunity. Therefore, even at the stage of planning the purchase, it is recommended to think about where it will be located.

The first thing to remember is that you cannot place household appliances close to a wall or other device. The gap should be 1-2 cm or more. An exception is made only for built-in devices. In this case, they are separated by facades or partitions.

When deciding where to put the refrigerator, you must remember that it cannot be nearby:

  • ovens;
  • slabs;
  • radiator or other heat sources.

It is not recommended to place it near a window, especially if it faces south. Too warm air will cause compressors to turn on frequently and increase the temperature inside the equipment. Therefore, the refrigerator will cope worse with its main function - cooling. It also cannot be placed close to the wall. There should be about 10 cm between the back wall and the wall.

The distance from the gas stove to other household appliances and sockets is at least 15 cm. It is permissible to place an electric stove closer. Hood always located directly above the stove or hob.

The oven should not be placed too close to the refrigerator or freezer. The minimum distance between them should be 10-15 cm. At what height to place the oven depends on the preferences of the housewife. Experts do not advise doing it too high or, conversely, low.In this case, household appliances will be inconvenient to use.

An electric kettle can be placed on any place, with the exception of countertops under wall cabinets. This is due to the fact that hot steam rises during boiling water and can damage the surface of the facade.

Regarding the placement of other popular household appliances, experts give the following recommendations:

  1. Microwave. It should not be pinched by other objects (furniture or appliances). An exception is made only for an integrated gadget.
  2. Coffee maker. There are no strict rules for the placement of coffee makers. The only thing you need to pay attention to is its design. If water and grains are loaded from above, then enough free space is required for comfortable opening of the device.
  3. Toaster. Cannot stand directly near the stove or freezer. Also, the toaster does not need to be placed on the windowsill, next to the curtains.
  4. Juicer. No need to place it next to the hob.
  5. Grill. It is recommended to place it away from other household appliances.

How to install household appliances in the kitchen

For every item in the kitchen there is an ideal place where it is best to put it:

  1. Fridge should be located away from other devices. Sometimes it is even moved outside the kitchen to make room for furniture or other kitchen gadgets.
  2. It is recommended to place the stove outside the kitchen unit. If the area allows you to make an island in the middle of the room, it is recommended to use it. When this is not possible, the working triangle rule should be applied. According to him, the stove, refrigerator and sink in the kitchen should be at the vertices of an imaginary equilateral triangle.
  3. The hood is installed directly above the stove. The placement height is 60-65 cm above the hob, unless otherwise specified in the instructions.
  4. The microwave should be at least 10 cm away from the wall. A gap of at least 8 cm should be left on the side, and at least 25 cm on top. If there is no such space in the kitchen, use a special bracket that is attached to the wall.
  5. Dishwashers and washing machines, when placed in the kitchen, are installed in separate cabinets to which there is easy access. The distance from them to the entrance to the sewer system should be no more than 1.5 m.
