Toilet and bidet in one style
Many manufacturers of plumbing products create sets of toilet and bidet fixtures in one style solution

If you do not install a special tap on the bidet, but use the device as a bath, pouring water into it if necessary, then the whole idea of a convenient way to perform hygiene procedures will lose meaning. After all, the user should be comfortable.

When there is absolutely no space in the bathroom, but there is a desire to install a bidet, the problem is solved by purchasing a special toilet lid that has bidet functions. It does not require installation of a mixer - the entire system is supplied assembled. Such a device only needs to be correctly installed on the toilet and connected to the water supply.

The watering can, designed for a hygienic shower, is equipped with a convenient water on/off button. Its size is much smaller, and the location of the nozzles is also excellent compared to a shower head.

It is easy for an inexperienced craftsman to get confused among the variety of plumbing fixtures and mistakenly purchase something that is not what is required. To prevent this from happening, you need to take a closer look at the features of these cranes.

Features of bidet taps

Whatever model of bidet you purchase, it has a significant drawback - you need to additionally buy a special siphon and mixer. And then install and connect these devices.

Bidet mixer
Before buying a faucet, you need to get a little closer to the features and varieties of these plumbing products designed for bidets

The faucet is a little different from the usual one installed on the sink or bathtub.

Its main differences:

  • it is slightly smaller in size;
  • knows how to more accurately regulate temperature;
  • has a special aerator nozzle for high-quality spraying;
  • the nozzle can rotate in all directions;
  • has a thermostat, replaceable nozzles, and additional functions.

This special faucet, which can clearly regulate the flow pressure and temperature, allows you to make the ablution procedure as useful and enjoyable as possible.

Design types of devices

Mixers designed for installation on a bidet differ in appearance, in terms of installation method, operating principle, material of manufacture, configuration, functions and other characteristics.

So, according to the type of control, cranes are:

  • valve;
  • lever;
  • contactless.

Valve mixers assumes the presence of 2 valves - to regulate the supply of cold and hot water.

Valve mixer models
Valve faucet models can be of very different types - from modest to downright chic and very expensive.

Lever mixer — control of the supply and mixing of water occurs through a special mechanism - a lever. This adjustment is smoother and more convenient.

Lever models of bidet faucets
Lever models of bidet faucets are produced by many plumbing manufacturers. You can choose an option according to your personal preferences

Touchless faucets (sensory) are also in high demand. Especially when they have a thermostatic element.This is the most acceptable option, allowing you to set the desired temperature for the water used for the bidet.

Subsequently, you will not have to waste time and energy on adjusting the comfortable temperature - the device will carry out the given command.

Touch faucet models
Touch-sensitive faucet models are also used for installation on a bidet. Moreover, this option with a built-in thermostat is the most convenient and profitable

Depending on the installation method, there are faucets for open and hidden installation. The first ones are installed on the side of the bidet or on the wall, and all components, including flexible/rigid eyeliner, are hidden behind the device.

Concealed faucet installation
With hidden installation, all elements are built into the wall, from which only the faucet peeks out, and communications are securely hidden

Mixers come in the following configurations:

  • a simple device designed for installation on a bidet;
  • with special additional attachments;
  • with bidet spout for internal filling;
  • with watering can/hygienic shower;
  • bidet cover without mixer.

In the latter version, the bidet lid only needs a cold water supply. It has programmable functions that allow you to set the desired water temperature.

Model faucet with hygienic shower often installed on a sink, when the watering can itself is mounted on the wall next to the bidet/regular toilet. Water is supplied by pressing a special button on the watering can itself. This is very convenient - if water is not needed, then one press is enough to turn it off.

Watering can for hygiene procedures
The watering can for hygienic procedures is much smaller in size than its counterparts - shower heads

How to choose the right model?

To choose the right mixer that is ideal for the purchased bidet, you need to take into account a number of features of your device.

Firstly, the installation location and design features of the bidet are important - it has internal or external filling. When filling externally, the choice of mixer is not limited by restrictions. When filling internally, you will have to select an option that is designed for this type of bidet.

Internal filling means that water will be supplied through holes in the edge of the device itself. Faucets for all bidets with internal filling consist of 2 taps and a switch located between them.

As for the installation location, it can be a wall, the side of a bidet, or the side of a sink. It all depends on the availability of free space in the room, the model of the plumbing fixture, and the preferences of future users.

Secondly, it is important to pay attention that the selected model is suitable in size for the bidet. And you should pay attention to the design - the faucet should not stand out from the overall composition of the bathroom.

The bidet mixer fits into the interior
It is advisable to buy a mixer for a bidet along with similar products for other plumbing fixtures - holders for paper, napkins, sink faucet, mixer with shower head and others

Third, choose the right model that is suitable for the installation method. After all, each room has its own characteristics - some piping in the bathroom has already been designed for installation of a bidet; other potential users do not yet have anything similar.

Fourth, the mixer must be of high quality and have a complete set from the manufacturer.The box with the device includes a kit for its installation and special flexible or rigid hoses for connecting to the water supply.

Fifthly, you must immediately purchase a special siphon to connect the bidet to the sewer system.

At sixth, it is better to avoid faucet models with plastic parts. It is better to choose a more reliable package and do not forget to check the availability of a warranty card from the manufacturer.

The right bidet faucet
A correctly selected faucet will not only be functional, but will also fit perfectly into the interior of the bathroom.

Installation and connection of the mixer

When the mixer is correctly selected for the bidet, and the siphon has been purchased, it’s time to deal with the installation issue. You can do this yourself, or hire a plumber or craftsmen from a reliable company. It all depends on the selected faucet model and the features of a particular bathroom/WC.

Photo instructions for installing a mixer with a shower

Installing a faucet with a hygienic shower that functions as a bidet includes a cycle of standard actions. A selection of photographs will familiarize you with their sequence.

Following the presented guide, a completely inexperienced performer can handle mounting and connecting the device:

We will assume that the first steps have been successfully completed; the mixer is fixed to a metal strip. Now you need to connect it:

How to install a faucet on a bidet?

If the mixer is installed by specialists, then the owner will only have to check the quality of the work upon completion of installation. Otherwise, you will have to deal with the process yourself.

 Installing a faucet is not difficult
Installing it yourself is not difficult - the main thing is to carefully read the installation instructions supplied by the manufacturer

All installation work will consist of the following stages:

  • preparation of instruments;
  • mixer assembly;
  • installation and fastening at the workplace (bidet side, wall);
  • final fixation of the mixer;
  • sealing;
  • siphon assembly;
  • installation of the siphon and fixing it in the workplace.

When the tools are prepared and the instructions for the mixer have been read, you should carefully consider all the components that come with the device. Here you can see rubber gaskets, nuts, other fasteners and parts necessary for installation.

Flexible liner makes it easier to work with
It is easier to work with flexible hoses, especially if you do not have special experience in connecting plumbing. The main thing is not to overtighten the nuts

Then you have to assemble the mixer. When assembled, it can be placed in a special hole provided in the bidet.

Flexible water lines
Flexible hoses for cold and hot water must already be connected - they will only need to be threaded into the hole in order to subsequently connect to the water supply system

If you use rigid hoses for water supply, then it will be a little more difficult. When installing yourself, it is more convenient to use a flexible connection option. It is better to entrust hard eyeliner to experienced craftsmen.

Attaching the faucet to the bidet
Having installed the mixer at the workplace, you need to carefully secure it, but do not overdo it. To do this, you will need to use rubber or silicone gaskets and special pins included in the kit.

Now you can put on the nut and tighten it. Next, it is important to check whether the faucet is level with the sides of the bidet. If everything is in order, you can tighten the nuts by hand or with a wrench that is suitable for these purposes.

The next stage is sealing. To do this, you need to take silicone sealant and carefully treat the places where the elements of the mixer come into contact with the bidet. Allow the material to dry.

All that remains is to take out the siphon for the bidet, purchased earlier, from a separate package. Moreover, the diameter of the product must match the diameter of the corresponding hole in the bidet.

The siphon consists of a rigid and flexible part. Flexible is, most often, plastic corrugation. To install a siphon in a bidet, you need to put a gasket and a protective grill on the drain hole and carefully tighten the locking nut. Here you should not pull with all your might - you may accidentally break the thread.Now you need to attach the corrugation to the siphon with a plastic nut.

Concealed installation of bidet faucet
If we are talking about hidden installation, then almost all parts of the structure are hidden in the wall. Only a few holes are exposed where hoses for supplying cold and hot water and a sewer drain must be connected

When required installation of a mixer with a watering can, then it is most often placed on a nearby sink. The kit includes a flexible supply that will be connected to the water supply system, as well as a watering can with a decent length hose.

Some models of faucets with a hygienic shower are mounted on the wall when there is no sink next to the bidet or it is installed very far away.

Connecting the mixer to the water supply

After installing the mixer with a siphon at your workplace in the bidet, all that remains is to connect it in order to check the quality of the work performed. To do this, you need to connect the flexible hoses extending from the mixer with the corresponding pipes supplying cold and hot water to the house/apartment.

Tow for a tight connection
For a tight connection, it is better to use tow and treat the joints with sealant

After connecting the plumbing equipment to the water supply system, all that remains is to connect it to the sewer system.

This is done like this:

  • first you need to take the rubber ring and treat it with sealant;
  • then secure tightly in the sewer socket;
  • Now you can put the second end of the corrugation into the ring.

That's it - the mixer is installed, and the bidet is connected to the sewer and water supply networks.

Installation of a special cover

If the bathroom is combined and there is no room for a bidet, don’t be upset. For sale is a special toilet lid for performing hygiene procedures.It can conditionally be called a descendant of the classic bidet, which is rapidly gaining popularity.

This cover is called the bidet cover. It can be semi-automatic or fully automatic. Many manufacturers equip their lid models with a lot of additional functions - drying, deodorant, self-cleaning and others.

To install the bidet cover, you must first remove the old one from the toilet. Then, having studied the installation instructions, secure it to the toilet using the nuts and bolts included in the kit. If the model is volatile, then plug in the plug.

Installing the cover is quite easy
Installing the cover is quite simple; it is important to carefully read the instructions supplied with the plumbing product

All that remains is to connect it to the water supply. Everything here is extremely simple - the kit includes a special tee, which is put on the pipe that supplies water to the drain tank.

The drain tank connection is screwed into one of the holes in the tee, and in the second hole you should first install a filter and then a flexible hose that will supply the device with water.

The filter will extend the life of the mixer
The filter will extend the service life of the device without repair. For some models it comes complete with other parts for installation.

The connection to the water supply system is complete. The main thing is that all connections are made securely. There is no need to connect to the sewer system - the toilet is already connected.

    A bidet, of course, is not such a necessity in the bathroom, but it is much more convenient and comfortable. Now, of course, you can buy a special cover for the toilet, but I don’t really like this idea, it’s not very convenient. I took a hidden mixer and put all the components in a box. It looks nicer this way when only the faucet sticks out of the wall. There is nothing complicated in the installation process. I also connected the sink myself, the main thing is not to confuse the hot hose with the cold one.
