Let's look at the model, outlining its performance characteristics, as well as highlighting its advantages compared to competitors - vacuum cleaners from other manufacturers.

Overview of the design and functions of the model

Technologically most vacuum cleaners for household use are not very different from one another, even if we take into account the fact that production is carried out by different brands. There are, of course, some individual “tricks”, but in general the principle of a modern vacuum cleaner can be considered generalized.

Vacuum cleaner model Philips FC90711
The appearance of the main module of a Dutch-made vacuum cleaner, listed in the product catalog as model FC9071. Pleasantly colored panels and impressively large controls

Therefore, as a rule, the main factors for a potential buyer of a cleaning apparatus are the operational (technical) characteristics. For example, engine power, practicality of working attachments, filter interchangeability - all this worries the consumer more than the manufacturability of these elements.

Power consumption2000 W
Suction power450 W
Garbage Collection Executionbag
Waste collection volume3 liters
Noise76 dB

The design of the vacuum cleaner is equipped with a power level regulator located on the body of the device. There, on the body, there is an indicator that the garbage collector is full.

The power cord with the function of automated twisting onto a reel has a length of 7 meters when unrolled. This cable length is enough to cover a range of up to 10 meters during cleaning.

Philips FC90711 vacuum cleaner kit
The classic package for Philips FC9071, which, however, can be expanded if desired by the consumer through optional components. By default, three working attachments are included.

The working attachments are mounted on a telescopic pipe-rod. Which is connected to the inlet pipe on the body of the device through a corrugated elastic hose.

The set of attachments (classic set) is as follows:

  • universal Tri Active (hard and soft floor);
  • slotted;
  • small (furniture).

This vacuum cleaner is equipped with an effective filtration system that provides fine cleaning of the intake air. In particular, the design provides for the installation of a HEPA filter with a cleaning class of at least 13. Against this positive background, the weight of the equipment is somewhat puzzling - 5.7 kg.

Features of the Philips FC9071 cleaning machine

The use of a vacuum cleaner in room cleaning mode is accompanied by the individual features inherent in this model. However, many of these features (or similar ones) are also found in the designs of machines from other manufacturers, for example, Samsung or Dyson.

Universal nozzle with mode switching option

The peculiarity of this tool, which received the logo Tri Active, consists in partially controlling the configuration of the brush, depending on the surface to be cleaned.

Universal brush attachment
The manufacturer supplies a universal brush attachment along with two small working attachments. A characteristic feature of the universal brush attachment is the presence of a large-sized rocker switch for operating modes for switching using the user’s foot

So, if you plan to clean a regular hard surface, the owner of the vacuum cleaner just needs to turn on the appropriate position of the rocker switch. By the way, it is worth noting: the design of the rocker switch involves control not with your hands, but with your feet. This option is, of course, more user-friendly.

When switched on to hard surface cleaning mode, the brush is configured as follows:

  • a narrow brush extends from the body;
  • At the same time, a small guide wheel slides inside the housing.

On the contrary, when you turn on the nozzle in the mode for cleaning soft surfaces, the narrow brush moves inward, and the small guide wheel lowers to the working level. Another type of attachment – a combined one – provides the user with approximately a similar function.

Combination brush-nozzle, bottom view
One of the design options for the combined brush head is shown in a bottom view. The angular configuration of the working element, the supporting small wheel and the gripping area trimmed with pile material are clearly visible. Hair brushes are visible on the sides

A combination nozzle is sometimes included in the kit instead of a universal accessory. It differs only in the absence of a small guide wheel.

Control and monitoring elements

The entire elemental set of control and monitoring of the vacuum cleaner is displayed on the top panel of the case. A special feature of the design in this case is the large size of the buttons for turning on the network and folding the power cable.

Front Panel Control
The machine control panel, where three main operating elements are located - the “start” button, the suction power regulator, and the cable reel control button. An indicator for filling the filter bag and a holder for cartridges with aromatic substance are also located here.

This engineering solution was made taking into account to provide more comfort to the user. The large buttons are made specifically for convenient manipulation with the feet, not the hands. Between the buttons there is a suction power level regulator.

Closer to the corrugated hose insert cartridge there is an indicator for filling the garbage collector, and exactly opposite the indicator - closer to the rear edge of the housing - the holder for the air aromatization system cartridge is located. This “trick” can also be attributed to the features of the Philips vacuum cleaner.

Processed air aromatization system

Thanks to the air aromatization system, the Philips vacuum cleaner FC 9071 modification creates a greater feeling of cleanliness and freshness during the cleaning process. For this purpose, special “branded” s-fresh granules, with which the system cartridge is filled, which in turn is inserted inside the holder on the body of the vacuum cleaner.

Fragrance cartridge holder
Aroma system for Philips FC9071 vacuum cleaner. Actually, a universal holder where the cartridge is inserted. The design of the holder allows you to install the cartridge in different positions, achieving the desired effect of the system.

The design of the aromatization system (cartridge holder) involves regulation of the degree of aromatization - minimum degree or maximum. The desired option is achieved by simply turning the cartridge over and installing it in the forward or backward position. The cartridge can be locked when not needed by simply turning it until the outlet holes are closed.

Dust collection and air flow filtration

The Philips FC9071 model under consideration is designed for use as a filter bag as a garbage collector. In this case, it is allowed to use both disposable and reusable collection bags. The classic equipment of the device usually includes a disposable two-layer paper bag.

Filter bag inside the vacuum cleaner
This is what a filter bag filled inside a vacuum cleaner looks like. It is noteworthy that the proprietary design ensures convenient removal of the bag using a special handle, which is accompanied by minimal user contact with dust

In addition to the filter bag, the design of the vacuum cleaner includes a stationary motor protection filter. There are also filter elements for fine air purification in the rear part of the housing.

It is allowed (optional) to use any of the following fine filters:

  • Super Clean Air (charged with electrostatic charge);
  • Super Clean Air HEPA 12 (standard);
  • Super Clean Air HEPA 13 (washable).

The service life of such filtration elements before replacement is about 6 months.

HEPA filter Philips FC9071
The filter element for fine air purification is HEPA 12. It is installed in a special slot in the rear part of the housing. It is removed by a slight pulling movement of the user’s hand by the “transport” eyelet

Pros and cons of a Philips vacuum cleaner

Dutch-made household appliances have more advantages in terms of operation than disadvantages.

The list of advantages of the FC9071 model is built up by the following points:

  1. High level of suction power.
  2. Ease of management and control.
  3. Availability of a universal convenient nozzle.
  4. High degree of filtration of intake air.
  5. Availability of air aromatization function.

However, the Dutch vacuum cleaner also has disadvantages. True, the disadvantages mentioned should be considered not specifically from a technical point of view, but solely from the point of view of ease of use by users.

The negative aspects of the unit include:

  1. Outdated dust collection technology.
  2. Quite large weight and dimensions.

Meanwhile, the advantages and disadvantages are a kind of “standard” of any technology. More details about them in the video below. The video allows you to more thoroughly evaluate a Philips household cleaning machine from different angles, without resorting to the method of direct contact in a store.

Reviews from owners of this model

User reviews always successfully complement the review of any equipment. For the Philips brand vacuum cleaner in question (model FC9071), user reviews also create a clear operational image.

For example, often 40-50% power is enough for owners of the device to carry out high-quality cleaning. Users note that when operating at half the power, they feel almost no noise at all.

Some owners of a Dutch vacuum cleaner complain about the lack of a transport handle, which makes it a little difficult to move the machine from place to place. But at the same time they note that the problem is easily solved thanks to the easy-to-roll wheels.

Some people are not satisfied with the shape of the working universal brush. However, it is immediately noted that everything depends on the time of use of the vacuum cleaner. After working with the machine for some time, owners quickly get used to all the accessories and functions of the vacuum cleaner.

Competing vacuum cleaners Philips FC 9071

If you look at market offers for household cleaning equipment that are on sale, and at the same time compare the technical parameters with the Philips FC9071, there are many close analogues. For example, you can pay attention to the three models from third-party manufacturers presented below.

Competitor #1 - LG VK88504 HUG

The development from LG exactly matches the power parameters of Philips. A slight difference is observed in suction power (430 W to 450 W), However, this difference in practice looks insignificant.

The LG design is clearly distinguished by the presence of a cyclonic filter. Apparently for this reason the device is 1 – 1.5 thousand rubles more expensive. However, the LG design produces more noise (78 dB versus 76 dB). You can also note the slightly longer power cord (8 m) and the weight parameters, which are 0.3 kg greater than that of a Philips brand vacuum cleaner.

With the best models cleaning equipment from LG will introduce you to the article, which we highly recommend reading.

Competitor #2 – Samsung VC24FHNJGWQ

The product of the Korean company Samsung seems to be a serious competitor for the Dutch development. At a price lower by 1.5 - 2 thousand rubles, the Samsung VC24FHNJGWQ product provides the owner with almost the same suction power (440 W). True, the power consumption is slightly higher - 2400 W.

The competing vacuum cleaner Samsung, like the Dutch development, is equipped with a filter bag. In terms of the volumetric parameters of the bags, the ratio of the models is similar (3 liters). The Korean car is a little lighter - 0.4 kg and, like the Dutch product, is equipped with a HEPA 13 fine filter.

Competitor #3 - VITEK VT-1833

The VITEK VT-1833 model is slightly weaker in power (1800 W, 400 W). But it attracts with a lower price - about 2 thousand rubles. At the same time, the design is constructed technologically using an aquafilter and in total uses a five-stage filtration system. The capacity of the dust collector is 0.5 liters larger.

Meanwhile, the weight of the equipment is almost 2 kg more than that of Philips. When working with a vacuum cleaner, the network cable unfolds no more than 5 meters. The set of working attachments is virtually identical to the Dutch model. A telescopic rod and a power regulator mounted on the body are also used.

Leading in ratings Vitek vacuum cleaners are described in detail in the following article, which is worth reading for interested potential buyers.

Conclusions and best offers on the market

In general, the machine produced by the Dutch company Philips seems to be a very successful tool, with the help of which effective cleaning of residential and commercial premises is achieved.A vacuum cleaner from the mid-price range of equipment ensures productive work and promises to last for a long time without any major complaints.

You can probably make complaints about such operational shortcomings of the device as weight and dimensions. However, thanks to these technical costs, the design of the Philips FC 9071 vacuum cleaner is characterized by low noise and efficient operation.

    It’s a good vacuum cleaner, I’ve been using this one for about six months now, we bought it to replace one of the Samsung models. Excellent suction, maximum suction power is 450 W, and it works very quietly. If you set the power to minimum, it will be inaudible at all; at medium speed it makes noise only if you listen. Cleaning is quite convenient, the vacuum cleaner is maneuverable, with a long telescopic hose. Nice model.

    I bought a vacuum cleaner 9071 in 2013, I really liked it, so in 2014 I bought the same second one, the first vacuum cleaner worked for 9 years and then stopped working, now the second one has been working since 2022, I would buy it again but it’s not on sale, I’ll take the first one for repairs.
